Ok...I'm sure many of you have done this more than you can count... I began digging into my engine today and couldn't remove the intake/exhaust manifolds. I unbolted the two bolts at the carb, another one at the middle of the intake, and the trangular washer bolts between both intakes "on top" How does one access the bolts underneath? My big ’ole hands can barely even detect them much less get in there for removal. It looks as though everything else is unscrewed...

I use a socket and 2 extentions, a 6" and 3" and kinda "feel" for them. Of course, my hands and arms are small enough to fit in there and actually find them too. Reinstalling I slide the triangle washer on a phillips screwdriver and line it up with the stud then use another screwdriver to slide them on. Then use a shallow 6 point socket with the extentions to "find" and start the nut by hand. It's kind of an art in it's self. After you've done it a few hundred times it's second nature.

a 1/4 inch flex drive does wonders to tighten them - prevents over torque, after the screw driver trick

Getting them of - some penetrating oil - and as the man said 2 x 1/4 inch drive extentions, a 1/2 inch socket, and a universal between the lot
