 Post subject: converter bolts

Is it best to remove the flex plate to converter bolts through the hole where the starter was? Ive been out of town so it still isnt out. Thanks for your help.

I remove the dustcover and get them from underneath. The larger opening allows you to rotate the assy., so two bolts are exposed, remove one, then use the other bolt to rotate the engine more untill the next bolt is exposed. Keep doing this untill all the bolts are out. It goes real quick once you get the hang of it.

Some blocks you can go through the starter hole and some you can't. It seems to me that I could on my cast crank motor and couldn't on the forged crank. Weird, huh? Dennis
