hello, my '83 truck has a no spark condition and i am trying to locate the electronic control unit, to see if it is the problem. where is this thing mounted ?

Should be the Electronic Spark Control unit on the air cleaner.

Ive seen some of these on the fenderwell near the battery, also in the off chance it came with std. electronic Ignition (most /6's that year didnt from what Ive seen) look just below the drivers side hood hinge.
If the trcuk's had much work the past 24 yrs it is very possible it has been de-leanburned, in which case who knows where they'd have mounted it! The captured nuts are there though, for the std Mopar electronic ignition box, regardless of which ignition setup the truck originally had.
