Welcome, sixertrk! You might want to make this a new topic. You certainly gave more details to work with than some have with their questions! I will say, that for "What is this thing?"-type questions, photos are very useful. Learn to use the macro function on a digital camera, get some light on it, photograph everything before you take it apart, and you'll save yourself a lot of grief. To add photos, read THIS I use PHOTOBUCKET to host my pics, but there are a lot of similar sites. By the way, I've been here for several years, and I'm still reading and re-reading. ![]() |

Oops, sorry, nothing like flying the rookie flag. Can I change this to a new topic, if so, how? |

A moderator can split the thread if one is so inclined. The best thing to do it to simply start with a new topic in the beginning. Just click the "New Topic" button at the top of the desired forum list. |

They look a lot like the late 70's EGR timer, I'm sure by 1979-1980 they also are a timer for some other emissions solenoid as well...If you want better highway mileage your timing at cruise rpm must be better than 40 (i.e. if you're using a standard EI distributor not the ESC, the vacc. advance needs to be working to get something in the 45-50 range based on driving style, typical drive, weight of vehicle, etc...) -D.Idiot |
