Starting to work on the chassis on my '63, found some NOS parts but not everything. Partsamerica.com has two companies for suspension, TRW and McQuay-Norris. I've never heard or used McQuay-Norris parts, are they any good?

Now I don't know how long M-N has been around, but as of about 3 years ago when I was still wrenching , most of M-N's bushings were plastic/nylon which seems to have alot to do with their shorter life than what Ive experienced with Moog which, at least then, was still mostly copper/brass Oilite. Companies like M-N would try to play this as "smoothness" and easier steering but it wasn't holding up as well.
Moog has offered a choice between brass or nylon on their kingpin sets
(there are still a ton of '91-down Ford vans around here) but there was no question; Nylon was a little easier to install, but it was avoided if you didnt want to be redoing the same truck again in short order. Spicer was a mix, depending on application; some of their stuff was like world beaters, other was crap. Oh, and by bushings, I don't mean the rubber ones such as would be used in a control arm; I mean in places that you can't see too well, like the pivot balls of tie rods and ball joints and idler arms.
In other words where the nitty gritty is that actually takes the shock of potholes and such.
