Has anyone installed a kickdown cable conversion kit on a 2 barrel?

I can't figure out how to make the connection at the carb.

If anyone would have pics of their installation that would be greatly appreciated.

George

Depends on what setup you're trying to install. Seems like most people who try to install a Lokar cable wind up having to futz with it and modify/fabricate parts to make it work correctly. This looks like a much easier, better setup. I haven't (yet) installed one in my '62, but I'm fixin' to.

I've installed a LOKR cable kickdown in the past, I fabricated a "leg" for the existing throttle lever, going in the oposite direction of the existing lever, so you end up with both cables in the same end, when accel cable pulls the throttle open, the "leg" in the opposite direction (180 deg opposite) pulls the KD cable. You understand or want a sketch?

I attached the carb end to the gas pedal instead of the carb. To do this, I took a split bushing, drilled a hole in it for the cable to run through, and hose-clamped it to the pedal bellcrank near where the throttle cable attaches. Sounds weird, but it gives me a lot of adjustability and has kept me from having to constantly rework it when I've put a number of different intake setups on.

I found old pics of my setup when I had auto trans. Well, when I had dodge, slant six AND auto trans

Here they are. Hope they're clear enough. The fabricated aditional bracket is the one that's fixed with brass screws and has the lokar plastic clip (the lower one)

hope this helps
