The sway bars are on the way from JEGs. Got the ADDCO front and rear, same as I put on my brothers Barracuda. Should tighten the Valiant down quite a bit. Going with the 1 1/8th front, and 3/4 rear. Probably go with some fresh shocks at the same time, this old car sat quite a while. |

Enjoy your oversteer. A 3/4" rear bar is too much at the limit. It will feel good in casual driving, but will be loose as you approach the limit. Don't go shooting backwards off the road! That's the difference between understeer and oversteer. With the former you get to watch the car run off the road. With the latter you get to see where you've been and back off the road. |

Sounds good — those Addco bars have worked well for many people over the years. You may want to read up on shock options here. |

Maybe it's just learning to drive on gravel roads. But the sway bars on the Barracuda (69 slant six) arrived about a week apart. Got a chance to try front only, then a week later add the rear. The front helped but the car still understeered, when the rear bar went on the car got to where you could set a very good line through a turn. I do understand that some people cant stand it when the rear comes out at all, but I don't mind. I'd much rather have the rear lossen than have that understeer feel. |

I don't get it with alot of people getting oversteer with the rear addco bar..... (might be springs the spring rates.) I have the 1 1/8" , 3/4" F/R setup on mine and it's pretty much neutral with 4-wheel drift.... (I did get oversteer with the original tires.... 6.50 13 bias front/ 6.50 13 bias snow tires rear (I put the bars on before new tires since I was looking for bigger rims))..... it was sort of fun...

Ed, The oversteer comments come from people that actually put their car(s) on race tracks and run them at speed. If you never drive at the limit you'll never know how the car handles there. |

Not all handling at limit is in race cars. I drive in the snow everyday. Throttle oversteer is always an option..... Not all rear sway bars are bad or good......it depends. I dont run a rear bar because I use heavy rate springs on the rear. I run a big bar on the front because I use the light stock torsion bars. Depending on spring rate and tires there is no reason to think that bar or no bar wont work. Eds car with light springs and no snow driving is prolly just fine. That same setup wont work on my car. |

Cornering balance is a function of anti-roll bar rates and spring rates...... When racing, higher-rate springs and T-bars are usually installed.. So if you have stiffer springs to begin with, the rear anti-roll bar may tip the balance to oversteer when compared to the stock soft springs and the same anti-roll bar.......... |

Well they got here. About like I remember from the Barracuda. Pretty beefy lookin front bar, about like I might expect on a Fury. Rear is enough smaller that I expect a good balance. Now I got to save my pennies and get a good set of wheels. Thinking about a set of the Outlaws, they fit the small bolt pattern, and look pretty good. |
