Nope.....the bellhousing is too small. You are OK with a 9"clutch as long as you make sure everything is working properly.

I have run a 9"clutch between a 5 speed and a quick super6 for a long time.

Make sure you motor and trans mounts are good. Make sure all the linkage is correct and lubricated. Make sure the Z bar mounts are aligned and solid.

Clean everything around the clutch (remove bottom pan) regularly. No oil.

I launch my car at an idle....and then get on it.

Go easy on the downshifts.....learn to drive without touching the clutch.

Save up for a 5 speed.

I recently got a Zoom clutch set, and the disc and pressure plate are fine, but the throwout bearing was made of soft/plastic/ nylon, which fell apart after I hooked it with the clutch fork...so I ended up using a good metal OEM one I had on the shelf...

I would say "it depends" I'm using a 10" in my 73 Scamp
with the stock flywheel.....bolted right up, no mod's,
got it from Napa....
both the 9 and 10 were listed for that year......
the Scamp was a 3 on the tree np250 when clutch was installed,
still in use with the np833od trans and bell.....

The book i got says to use dextron transmision fluid. I was under the impression the dextron was red. the fluid from my transmission looks like gear oil. what weight should I use the 75 or 80?

I like to use synth Mobil 1 Dextron if the seals are in good shape
and you get no "cruch" from the gears when shifting,
75-80 is fine also, 140 is too high unless your in north africa....
