My 63 Dart didn't have any interior when I got it. So, at first, since my plan was to make it into a drag car, I was going to make some interior panels out of sheetmetal. And I did, and it looks good. But now that I am going to make the car into more of a street/strip /6 car, I am thinking of changing the panels over to some board painted black for the time being, and later on, having them upholstered. What do you think?

Here is what it looked like when I first did the panels.

Now would it be better if the panels were black instead of silver/metal?

I think so, but I do like this look too. What if I painted the board panels silver/aluminum?

I have plain board doorpanels on there now.

Here's a picture of the whole car.

The '63 I am going to run at Vegas has original interior interior, but as you can figure out it's quite shabby looking. Only mine is a faded red.

Mine was originally this color.

I'm not a fan. I painted the factory metal parts black in the beginning. (First few weeks of ownership).

Here's the dash:

I fixed the steering wheel cracks with the old bondo trick before I painted it. Since these pictures I temporarily patched the floors, installed front seats (not original) and covered up the back seat area.

I really like your Board door panels.
Im going to use the roof of my parts car to make patch panels for my quarters.
Thanks for the pics,
Frank :D

30 years ago I used 1/8" paneling in a '66 Dart. Worked really nice. I might do the same thing again in my '65.

That's what I used for my front doorpanels. I just bought some more to do the rest. I think I'll paint them flat black, because the metal trim is gloss.
