This is just some info, for anyone that might need it. It could actually go in this forum or "suspension and brakes".

I have a small bolt pattern 7 1/4 rear in my 66 Valiant. I want to try a taller slick, but the 15 inch small bolt pattern wheels, that i have, that will fit the car are "mags", with a thick center. The stock wheel studs are not long enough to extend out past the outside of the mounting area. NHRA requires the studs extend into the hex portion of the lugnut by at least the diameter of the stud. Moroso has a stud that will work. Part number 46150. It is 7/16-20, 2 7/8 inches long with a .480 knurl. Just remove the stock studs, drill the holes in the axle flange with a 15/32 drill. This will open the holes the small amount required. Then press in the new long studs.

While I was doing this, I also noticed the flange on the 7 1/4 SBP axle is exactly the same as the flange on a 8 3/4 SPB axle. I have a couple of redrilled 8 3/4 axles to LBP with screw in 1/2 inch studs, so this will also work on the 7 1/4 axles. So that is another option for anyone that wants to keep thir 7 1/4 small bolt pattern rear, but use large bolt pattern wheels.
