Things are slow at work and they put me on 'call' today, but have to work saturday...
So I couldn't do anything major, ordered the parts to refurb the suspension in the Hpak duster... then decided to go a get a set of KYB Gas A Justs and replace the shocks in the Beater Valiant...

After pulling out 4 dead 'AC Delctron' Comfort Ride shocks with a 'C1980' stamp on the side (and the lower ends were 'wet'... not from the rain...).

Put in the KYB's, and man it makes for a nice ride... almost like haveing a stiffer suspension under there... (it doesn't lean much at all when doing a 'bullitt' cornering manuever...)

Sadly, when you fix one thing, you notice the next thing to fix... in this case, I see the gasket around the gas tank sending unit is starting to 'weep' and when I replaced the sending unit the 'bung' ring was almost at the end of it's sealing capability... now might be the time to swap in one of my later tanks like Josh did a while back...)... I might have some time tomorrow...

Thumbs up on the KYB's... (the counter guy wondered why I just didn't go all the way for the Edelbrock IAS's... )

You should have told the counter guy you'd be happy to accept Edelbrock shocks for the price of the KYBs.

For a little more than the price of a set of KYBs I recovered the QA1 Stocker Star adjustable shocks from my '66 Dart race car that I sold. My very own beater Valiant is up in the air with those used QA1 shocks and 1.04" torsion bars up front. The rear end is gutted and I'm waiting for the proper size pinion nut (Randy's shipped the wrong one) so I can put in my used 3.23 gears and see if the pattern checks OK.

If the rear end comes out OK then I'll move on to the 350 Holley 2bbl and 2 1/4" exhaust.
