Working on the stripping of my Aspen Wagon. I have heard that the K-Member has been used in Rod Projects. Is it worth keeping?

The Aspen/Volare front end used to be a very popular set up for older rods. People do still use them today, althought the Mustang II set up has been the one of choice for many years now thanks to the huge aftermarket.

If you plan to keep it for resale, try to keep it as complete as possible with the control arms, spindles, steering box, etc. That will make it easier to sell to someone looking to put it in a rod project. You're probably looking at a couple hundred bucks to the right buyer.

Those are real easy to remove as a complete unit.
As I recall, everything is 'self-contained' on the front K-member so you disconnect the steering shaft, brake lines, remove the 4 mounting bolts and the complete assy. rolls out from under the car.

That's what I did when I pulled the set up for my '56 Dodge truck. It was very easy. You can see why they were/are so popular for updating older hot rods.

I put one under the wifes 66 D100 (not finished). I would not do that again. I prefer the B body stuff. I put one of those under my 51 DeSoto.....in 1979.
