an "Unsilenced" Air cleaner? Does that mean that there is no snorkel?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Older 1 bbl slants technically have an unsilenced air cleaner, but not much noise makes it out the top of a little 1 bbl carb either. An HP273 on the other hand makes quite a lot of noise through a wide open AFB.
