Sounds like around 2,800 lbs without Sandy in it and an empty tank. Anyone know if my lowly no-option 100 sedan is lighter? Trying to research power-to-weight ratios with different combos. |

It wouldn't be too much lighter, unless Sandy had power steering in his car... there isn't too much to 'drop' on the early A-bodies in the way of options (and they didn't exactly put a whole load of sound deadener in them either like the big boats...)...Best way to tell is to take it to a truck weigh station, or the dump, and weigh it in to get a close approximation... -D.Idiot |

DI is right...you wont save much. My car has a number of weight saving mods....nicely offset by modifications. Disc brakes and 8.8 axle , sway bar are balanced by alloy rims, manifold, trans swap, mini starter etc. For sure the hardtop v/s 2 dr post thing is less than 20 lbs. I bet 2800 dry is a good guess. |

You might be suprised how light it might be. My 65 Valiant 100 2 dr post car, was 2530 with a quarter tank of gas. 170 slant six 904, 7 1/4 rear, 9 inch drums. Nothing else. Legal NHRA stock eliminator back in the 70's. No lighttening. Still had some sound dedener on it, but no heater. |

I'm inclined to think it is a little lighter than 2,800 lbs, but that's just my gut feeling. Somehow I had an idea it was around 2,600 lbs but I'm not sure where I came up with that. There's nothing in the FSM and not much online about factory curb weights for these cars. |

From what I've seen, the published shipping weight given by Chrysler is around 50lbs light. Shipping weight on a '65 V100 2dr is 2560. Add for any options on the car. As an example, the shipping weight on my '68 V200 is 2675, actual weight is 2830. Options/extras are 225 (20lbs), 904 (10lbs), undercoating (20lbs), 10 gal gas (60lbs). Without options would put it around 2720 or 45lbs over shipping weight. |

Well, no matter how you slice it, these cars are pretty light. Depending on your goals, you don't need to make tons of HP to be fairly quick. To me that translates into simpler combos which ultimately equates to less money spent. Sounds like a winner to me! |
