I have a 1975 Plymouth Duster with a 225 and a904 tranny and 1 barrel holley carb. What can I do to get the most mpgs out of it? Im in high school so I have a limited budget.

1: Take any extra stuff out of the trunk... weight costs fuel.

2: Drive the car like you have an egg under the gas pedal and you don't want to break it... seriously, this is probably the best thing you can do to get better gas mileage, assuming that everything is working correctly.

What are you getting for MPGs now? If it's between 20 and 24, you're probably at the max.

Im not really sure, but I dont think its a lot. Its going to be sitting in my garage until I get income tax back. Then im going to rebuild the carb and replace some gaskets. And at that time ill get it registered.

After looking at the picture of your engine it looks pretty stock for a 75. Find out the emissions laws you have down there and if you can remove some of the excess controls and try to get back to a basic and stable engine. Then you can start to fine tune the way it runs and make it simpler and more efficient.

Great project! It will be a nice car.
