Cause I would have been arrested for impersonating a drag racer this weekend. :?

Took the piggie out to 41 for some T&T Friday night in anticipation of going to 66 Saturday for the Big Bucks race.

First hit the car was a total pig. It was so slow I'm not even gonna say what it ran. Checked this and that and tried again. Bigger pig.

Pulled the plugs and all were bone white. That in itself is not bad because pump gas doesn't really color the plugs anymore. It was unusual in that I have never pulled bone white plugs out of this motor before.

Changed power valve and tried it again. Oink.

Changed jets up a size and tried again. Fastest pass of the night but still a pig.

Pulled some timing and tried again. Picked up .8 & 6 mph, but still eating corn. It was back into an area where I felt that I had solved whatever was going on.

Took it to 66 Saturday morning and turned the bottle on. Got caught with the bottle pressure down to 800. Tried it anyway and it sounded good, but was still a pig. On a 100 shot it picked up 1.3 & 6 mph. Plugs looked great.

One time run left so I put a 140 HP tune up on it and got the bottle pressure up to 900 like it should be. Burnout sounded great, staged the car and it wouldn't hit the rev limiter on the brake. Let go of the button and it felt good, but got to 5000 or so and went flat. I shut it off and drove right to the trailer.

7 passes this weekend and I couldn't hit the tree with a bulldozer either. Guess I gotta got out more than once or twice a year, huh?

.....thats where I ended up mudbogging this year...I did a ton of things to the car but never dialed it all in at once....never made it to the track.

I hope to get it happening for Canuck Thanksgiving......

Make sure that thing runs hard at least once before Daytona time...

Sorry Lou, no chance in Hell that I'll drag it anywhere the way it's running now, except maybe the scrap yard. :?

The bright side is that it went back on the trailer under it's own power and with 6 running cylinders. That's better than the first time I had it out this year.

I have an idea what's wrong. I am going to try a flow test on the fuel system this weekend IF I don't have to work Saturday. Rumor has it we'll be in there for training though.

I like overtime though. It's kinda like the plant manager holds out a bushel basket full of $100 bills and says "Have some!".

Keep at it big D... we know it is just a matter of tuning into the right combo. I also think you have a fuel delivery issue.

I find it is pretty easy to loose a "working tune" when using the spray.
This year, once I had the car taking a full shot and running decent numbers... I just left it alone.
All I do is refill the bottles, put in fresh fuel and hook-up the tow bar, and we are off to the next race.

Doug, it seems like I never had any issues until I started doing the upgrades.

Mike used to be amazed when I ran low 12's controlling the spray with the horn button.

Sometimes we out high-tech ourselves, I think.

Dennis, what kind of car is the "piggie"? Is it a slant or V8 car? Just curious, don't seem to remember what car you are referring to.
