I'm by no means an expert on intake manifold design. However, I would have to say that any manifold designed for FI would be more efficient in a FI application than a manifold designed for a carburetor. I don't know whether the manifold you are referring to was designed for a carburetor, and then modified for FI, or was originally designed for FI. Sorry that I can't be much help here.
