This is probably a silly question, but I'd rather look stupid and get the right part, then not ask and end up with the wrong part. Where exactly do you measure a brake drum to determine the correct size? Napa lists three different sizes for the rear drums on my '74 Duster; 9" x 2", 10" and 10" x 2 1/2". I would assume that, with the 8 1/4" axle, it has 10" x 2 1/2" drums, but I'd rather measure when I get home to make sure I'm right. |

Actually that would be the "Maximum" since turning the drum removes material and increases the diameter. Minimum spec is used for the thickness of a disk brake rotor. |

You can measure with a tape measure and get "close enough" to tell the counterman which you have; yes, 9 or 10" refers to the inside diameter on a drum. |
