Post subject:  How do I pick it up?

here's a silly question,

I got my engine lift finally and a stand finally but I was wondering where the hell do I pick it up? On the V8's I've picked up there's been a grab plate where the carb should be or just attach it to the exhaust ports. But my question is, where do you attach your chains when you pull your slant out?

I don't know that it was a dumb question, so much as a question that's already been answered. It was easier for those gentlemen to point to the previous answer than to answer again. Actually it was courteous of them to post the links rather than simply tell you to search.

Also
We would much rather you ask the question again rather than get HURT.
PLEASE allways keep it safe.

Posting a link to a previous thread is a great way to give fast and accurate answers to questions.
The links go to 2 nice threads that address the issue of lifting the SL6, both had good photos and info. that took a few days to "develop' as a message thread...
Hey, why reinvernt the answer if it's already posted here.
And yes, this is a common question, we should pull together a quick article on the subject seeing that a SL6 is a little different the most engines when it comes to lifting it.

That's a good point Doc, questions like this and other commonly asked questions like valve adjustment should be put into the "Articles" section. There hasn't been an update there since 04/03, probably by you.
