Yes, alky will need a carb set up for it. If you tune it right and run it properly, alky is not as bad as people let on. Worst thing you can do is run it fat. That is where you run into trouble with it milking the oil.
I know Mike has run alky in the blue car quite a few times. They never drained the tank from week to week either, just capped the vent and ran the carb dry.
I know on Mike's car switching from race gas to alky was worth almost 3 tenths. Alky is like nitrous. It's not the horsepower it makes, it's the torque.
