Someone donated a Kenwood CD player w/16 pin output. Attaching it to my pre-CD vehicle, I combined the red and yellow output (from unit) to 'hot' wire of car. Ground is from antenna lead. Thing lights up etc. Two of the pairs of wires from CD harness were factory labeled "front" Hooked them up, faded controls to 'front', but no sound. Does anyone have a suggestion, or know of website w/Kenwood wiring diagrams or even oddball adapters. At sea. |

The reply from Rod got me thinking. I seem to recall that either the front or the rears were out on that thing. I just rewired the harness to the rear speakers, and am heading out to give a try with flashlight. Temp 24F. Nice breeze. |

Still no sound from CD player. Donation included Kwood cassette deck with same connector. Tried that and it works. Now I need a cassette tape. Museum? |

ive bought some good old tapes at goodwill and salvation army, you could always go with a tape adapter and a ipod(or other mp3 player) or portable cd player, i accidentally blew my old cd player's internal amp(dont wire two speakers to one channel |

Are you sure about the ground? There should be a black ground wire. Go to the Kenwood site and download the manual. CJ |

OK I'll ground the black wire. Seems like it has some kind of ground going on since it lights up and moves CD in and out. |

Before hooking anything up, get the connection color codes! Kenwood has online manuals by model number. CJ |

OK, I found the manual online, for some reason I couldn't before. Helpful, thanks. |

CD player is junk, cassette player sounds played out. So for now it looks like good old AM radio like nature intended. Learned some things. Thanks for all input, you guys know everything! |
