Seriously, how hard is it to find a manual steering column that DOESN'T have a column shifter?

I can find plenty of columns for manual steering, but non-column shift units seem to be hard to come by.

You are pretty much limited to any 1973-1976 A-body that got the A-230 floor shift 3 spd tranny with manual steering (most of the 'stripper' Dusters with those options usually had power steering and the 8.25" rear)... Your other choice is any 1975-1976 A-body with the A-833 OD tranny and manual steering (quite a few made...most Feather Dusters... but not common in junkyards any more...)

You may have to e-mail or call Wildcat Auto Wrecking to get what you want... (or get creative on car-part.com and cross reference car inventory number searches that have the above two trannies/manual steering boxes/etc...)

I had a feeling I'd be in for a challenge on this one. I'll give Wildcat a call when I return home and see what their price would be. Problem with them is I'd have to pay a good amount of shipping for a part that large...

Put up a 'Parts Wanted" ad on Moparts. I did that when we were looking for a column for my buddy's Dart. Got a column from a guy in MD for $50. Shipping was less than $20 too. :D

Good idea. I didn't even think of putting up a Wanted ad anywhere other than here. Thanks for the heads-up.
