Post subject:  A body doors?

I am converting a standard 1973 Dart 4 door to 2 door. Once the posts are moved, will '73 Swinger doors fit the hole? Or any other doors...?
Thanks!

Wow, that's an interesting (and ambitious) project. The 2dr and 4dr windshields are different, and I am pretty sure the A-pillar angle is also different, which means I think the answer is "no can do".

Dan is very correct on this (as I recently had to get a 4 dr windshield for my valiant and there aren't many around that are 'new'...these are a much more straight up and down than say the 'duster' version)

The cheapest way to go about this is getting a 2 door car and going with that...

(or custom body work, custom glass for the 2 door-doors...etc...)

Where there any standard 2 door Darts in '73? I always thought the Swinger was considered the standard Dart 2 door model.

I can always rework the pillar (or cut out and use the Swinger pillars). I just want to know if the Swinger door will fit the hole. I've got a lot into this particular car now, so I'm not looking for a 2 door body, but thanks for the response!

Some people just have to do it the hard way I guess.

I have actually thought of doing the same thing to either a B or an F body wagon; kind of a "nomad" treatment; and just welding/filling the back doors shut is more than a little tacky.

I have seen pics of a 62 Dart done this way (wagon)

mebbe a ventless hard top door would fit a 4 door.....

If you used a 4 dr vent window......

Its just crazy enough to work!

If I had an extra 4 door A-Body, gas in the welder and extra time on my hands, I would section 30 inches or so out of the middle of the car and make a "short wheelbase" 2 door. (keeping the shorter 4 door, front doors)
Basically cut out the rear doors and back seat area and move the whole rear box forward.
Kinda gives you that circus "clown car" look.
