The front door panel seems to be held on by the catch at the bottom of the small triangular window on the front doors. Does any one know how to remove this or am I missing something?

I just read the shop manual and took at look at my panels on the shelf in the garage, but mine have been off the car for years now and I do not recall exactly how much hassle it was getting them off.

The usual stuff has to be removed, arm rests, window crank, and door opening lever. Then the garnish moulding - remove the two screws one at each end. The moulding then is lifted up at the rear of the door and swung to the inside of the car before slipping it out from under the vent window catch.

Now removing the panel can start. The manual says insert a flat blade screw driver between the panel and door frame next to the retaining clips and snap out the retaining clips around the edgw of the panel.

My panels also have phillips head screws that go through the panel into the door - so if anybody has added those to your car remove them also.

Then the panel is supposed to come off - it does look tight at the vent window latch. I would try a similar procedure as the moulding - lift up at the rear of the door panel and swing toward the inside of the car, and see it it will slide out from under the vent latch. The panel wraps over into the glass area and the cats whisker window scraper comes out with the panel.
If you still have trouble I can remount one of my panels and get pictures as I remove it.

Thanks for the info. Turns out I was being too gentle trying to clear the latch. Pryed a little more and the panel slid right off.
