OK, I feel a little lame, but I want to change the front blinker on a 67 Barracuda, I thought it would just twist out like my 73 Dart, but it doesn't seem to want to come out. I don't want to bust anything. I also got the front cover off with a shorty philips, but can't get to the bulb that way.

Would someone like to enlighten me? BTW, what bulb number is the proper one. It takes the yellow bulbs.

Correct bulb is 1157A or 1157NA (2357A or 2357NA if you want the signals a little brighter). The bulb is a bayonet-base (push/twist) type. Yours is probably stuck in the socket. You can give a shot of penetrant (Kroil or PB Blaster's best) where the bulb enters the socket, try jiggling the bulb, and carefully push and turn counterclockwise. You may wind up breaking the glass, in which case, use a needle-nose pliers to collapse the brass base and yank it out of the socket. If the park/turn lamp reflector has dulled or flaked, clean it with denatured alcohol, mask off the surrounding grille, put a wad of masking tape in the bulb socket, and shoot the reflector with "chrome" spray paint.

Thanks for the reply! However, I think my explanation of my dilemma was ambiguous. I haven't gotten to point where I can remove the bulb. I'm not sure how to expose the socket to get to the bulb. Do I pull/twist the socket and wiring back toward the engine to remove the socket from the housing?

On the '67 Barracuda, the socket is integral with the reflector/housing and cannot be removed. The bulb is accessed from the front, by removing the lens.

You have to undo the little nuts, hey we're all a little nuts sometimes, holding lights on from behind the grille.
