I am converting my a-body 8.75 rearend from small bolt pattern to big bolt pattern by replacing my axles with new ones. I have the factory 10" rear drum brakes on it currently. My question is: Will the backing plates on it now work with BBP 10" drums? I am aware there is a difference in width between the SBP and BBP 10" drums. Would this difference necessitate a change in backing plates? Thanks, Brian |

The short answer is yes. You will need different backing plates if you purchased Yukon axles or cut down c-body axles. |
