When I spoke with Dick at Firm Feel he had no problems with shipping overseas. Maybe because I am at an APO address.

I´m looking for a set of new torsion bars,around 250 lbs/in which is 1" and a little. Firm feel sells them, but is not cooperative with international dealing... too bad that is. Is there any other manufacturer out there? Thanks Chris |

Chris They may be found a Mopars at the strip, or contact a vendor that will be there. Then buy and take/ship them back. Also that will help with the CC issues. My 02 Frank |

I have extensive experience in upgraded suspension components. Upgraded to moly loaded grilon LCA bushings, same material UCA bushings, delrin idler arm bushing and such. I upgraded then to 1" heavy torsion bars and handled were definitely firmer but a little rough on the street. As a matter of fact I snapped one of the UCA tabs on the frame (not a big deal, reinforced them with thick steel and I was happy) bottom line is that firmer torsion bars somewhat hurts comfort but dramatically improves handling especially in tight cornering. It's indeed a tradeoff. Wouldn't recommend them for a slant six car with prospects of seeing at least weekly driving on the streets. My 2 cents. |

You might try Jim's Auto Parts, jimsautoparts.com the Mopar section as they sell Generic Motors parts as well. They have the 1.090 bars for $150 a pair! BTW, to all who are looking for ball joint/tierod end seals, $50 for a set for a complete front end! Check it out... |

What shocks were you using? My understanding is that, in order to run really big torsion bars (or stiff springs), really good shocks are the key to preventing harsh ride quality. $30 KYB's don't cut it when the torsion bars get beyond .890's. High end Koni's, QA1's, or even Edelbrocks are supposed to be much better.
bottom line is that firmer torsion bars somewhat hurts comfort but dramatically improves handling especially in tight cornering. It's indeed a tradeoff. Wouldn't recommend them for a slant six car with prospects of seeing at least weekly driving on the streets. My 2 cents. |
