I am currently working on parts for swapping to a super six setup. I will probably be going to use the 1bbl for this season and finish later. Either way, I am going for the exhaust system next week. I am going with 2 1/4 stainless pipe with stainless Magniflow muffler. I am going with stock exhaust manifold. I want to exit pipe in front of rear wheel. Is it too much to split exhaust into two pipes either before OR after muffler(s)? I don't want to go to duals off the motor right now. Trying to keep things simple in the doghouse. At the moment I am waiting for my Remflex gaskets to get here the off to the shop. Jim |

Hey Gup! Glad to see you over here! A 2 1/4 inch exhaust is about perfect for a single exhaust line on a stock slant. If you want to split it before or after the muffle then I would recommend splitting it into two 2 inch pipes. Get factory mufflers for a van with a 360 for a quiet but less restrictive exhaust, unless you want it loud. My brother's 83 Dodge shorty van has a 225 with a Super Six and a 2 1/4 inch single exhaust exiting before the rear axle. It is too loud for my taste, especially on the highway. |
