High resistance in one or both battery cables due to corrosion, dirt, internal breakage and/or loose connections, or a dead battery. |

Try cleaning the terminals on your battery and battery cables and making sure the battery cables are bolted on tight. |

A dead battery = one click then nothing. A charged battery with loose/corroded terminals = lots of fast clicking. Try just reconnecting the battery securely. |

Well I think I ran the battery down when I heard the clicking noise because I tried it again after that and only one click. |

I doubt you ran it down that fast. One click = bad connection at the battery terminals (most of the time).

I just checked the cables and I guess the connection wasnt good. Because it started without a problem after that. |

I wish I had a dollar for everytime I've seen a car click once then show no sign of life. The battery cables get corroded then when the high current is passed through the corrosion build-up it turns into an electrical insulator. The car will click once when the switch is turned then the electrical system is as dead as if the cable had been pulled. Cleaning and tightening of the cables fixes it most every time. |

I always used to use baking soda, a wire brush and a little water to clean off the battery and cable terminals. |
