I checked my new Erson cam ,,,,and the holes are in the right place.

The front cam bearing is grooved full circle.

The rear cam bearing hole lines up with the oil passage....but the hole to the top end doesn t line up with the oil passage. Its off half a hole in a diagonal direction. Can I just drill the bearing to match the passage?....or is this a way to meter oil flow to the top end?

The 1/2 hole mis-match will not hurt anything, this is not how the system meters the oil flow, that is done by the actual passageway in the rear cam journal, the thru hole only lines up for a moment, as the cam rotates.

You can oval-out the hole in the bearing or elongate the hole in the block, I would rework the holes in the block so the problem is fixed once and for all.
