Does anyone know of someone who makes custom valve cover decals or decals that can stand up to the heat of an engine bay...????

Have you checked with your local vinyl sign shop? They may have access to a hi-temp vinyl and be able to make any thing you need.

I've learnt a lot about decal-making from this project (which still is not done — but soon!). It takes a very high-quality material specifically meant to resist high temperatures and petroleum products to make an engine decal that lasts.

No idea yet. Depends what I have to ante up to get 'em! Should be pretty reasonable for an ultrahigh-quality, durable decal.
About 2" tall by about 7" wide, roughly.
(I rather put a torch, tongs, and assorted other worktools to sand somebody already's melted into glass rods of various colour).
