 Post subject: Mopar A/C radiator

71 Dart Swinger, 225, auto

Since I am doing a custom A/C setup, first thing's first...I am looking for a good Mopar radiator for A/C. I can't stand the look of the aftermarket aluminum ones, so I would like to find one that would fit in my slant. Currently i'm using a 22" radiator out of a 318 car, the problem is that the radiator has the extended brackets, so it's closer to the engine. I need a radiator that will work with A/C (this one probably will) but doesn't have the extended brackets.

A buddy of mine has a '72 Demon with factory A/C and a factory clutch fan, the 22" radiator has the correct mounting brackets, it sits right next to the frame...the PN on it is 3574658. The issue with this radiator is that the bottom outlet has the larger hose size... The top inlet is the correct hose size...however it's on the driver side.

I would like to find a radiator that is similar to this one (in mounting style) however with the correct hose size of inlet/outlet. If possible I would like the top inlet to be in the middle or the passenger side, not the drivers side. Does anyone have any good pictures or part numbers? Maybe a good place that sells them?

I agree with you that the universal "racing" aluminum crossflow radiators don't look "right" (though they cool just fine). Fact is, original Mopar radiators in good enough condition to rebuild are getting difficult and costly to find. Me, I'm having a new original-type downflow all-aluminum radiator made for my air conditioned '62 by this guy right now.

Would a 22 incher from a slant and AC equipped Aspen work? I will be parting this car out probably starting next week.

Thanks Dan, i'll keep this in mind. One of the things I can't stand though is a non-Mopar radiator in a Mopar...it just bugs me. We all have our little annoyances :)
