I removed my oil pan today, and the gaskets were all rubber. Then I opened my Felpro oil pan gasket set OS 12705 C-1, and the rail gaskets were cork. Would all rubber be better? Does anybody know who makes an all rubber set? Should I even worry about it? |

RDJ,I wouldn't sweat it,used felpro on my build and have had no problems.I used some permatex goop on the pan side as I figured that would be less straight/flat and maybe more prone to leaking. |

RDJ Both are available and either will work. I used a skim coat of permatex 2 on my cork gaskets and havent had any trouble been doing that for years. Frank |

Biggest trick is to get the pan as flat as possible and don't overtighten the bolts to cut the gasket. |
