I just remembered an odd thing my first 270 V8 from collage days would do. How I don't recall how I discovered this quirk. Or, why I still remember it, I'll leave that diagnoses for the next alzheimer's clinic visit... With a stock electrical system, and the ignition in the off position: Turn on the radio, four way flashers, and step on the brake. Hold this position for a short while, and the radio will play when the lights flash. |

Do you still have the fender tag from that car? Check for option code A51 (Hat pkg, aluminum foil, all passengers) |

No tin foil hats needed, it was a hardtop, and after it was the 1970's. Now that I have a rag top, I will be raiding the pantry for some HD Reynold's Wrap to keep in the trunk... safety first. |

I remember a trick from my college days too. Step on the brake, turn off the lights, turn on the radio and remove her top! |

You can get all kinds of bizarre electrical feedback behaviour when the hazard flashers are turned on, because they are the (usually cheaply-done) junction of a circuit with always-live feed — the flashers — and a circuit with ignition-on feed — the turn blinkers. This is particularly true if there've been non-stock additions, subtractions, or modifications of the car's wiring. |
