I was just looking on E-bag for some odd ball Holley offerings... and I wish I had the $$$ for one of these.. or wish they'd find one of the 1/4 mile dial kits NIB... (wish they still made these to help the 2300,4150/4160 guys dial the car in for better street mileage... and undial for track use...)

Duty cycle solenoid, just like the feedback frankencarburetors the cheap-butted US automakers used to squeak past emissions regulations in the '80s while they dragged their heels on doing it right (fuel injection), only this "mile dial" is connected to a dashboard dial instead of an O2 sensor and computer. Nifty gadget, but I wouldn't want one any more than I'd want a feedback carb.

Yeah, since Dan hasn't run a Holley 2300/4150/4160 he's never had the enjoyment of hoping out of the car on the shoulder of the highway to change jets, or upgrade the PV... (these actually worked better than the feedback carb since it allowed the person to manually dial in a better 'charge' by replacing the PV with the solenoid contraption (thus utilizing the PV passages to help the 4 barrel user tune on the fly for economy and driveability... The 1/4 mile dial kits are the other 'end' of the spectrum, they direct the fuel to the main well for the drag racer needing the top end and max 'go power'...

Too bad all the 'good kits are gone' like Weber and Edelbrocks kits that allowed the Holley guy to change the bleeds in the wells with a screwdriver, instead of taking the chance and ruining a metering block... or having to drill the air bleeds...

He's got four more for sale as a lot. I'd try and talk him out of one of those. I offered $80 for the one and the seller accepted. BTW, this will go on the primary side of my Holley 390 which is for the '67 Valiant. Add cockpit adjustable timing (I've paid for it, but it hasn't shown up yet) and I'll have plenty to fiddle with.

I like that toys... all I'm stuck with is driving with my laptop logging data from my VW ODBII engine management and trying to find out any other way to screw mileage up (I say any other way because my first attempt to remap was a complete mess... I got the same power than an electric car and the same mileage as a space shuttle)
