On the 'Articles' page, there is a write up about an Interval wiper mod... I, not by any means being an electrician, wonder if this, or a similar configuration would work on the later two, or three speed wiper motors. Anyone have any thoughts? |

i havnt read the article but the intermitent boxes are just a delayed timer. you could wire to your headlights or horn if you please... its just wired in series to wutever circuit or speed... |

The short answer is that that single speed intermittant wiper mod will not work for most of the 60s & 70s 2sp and 3sp Mopar wipers. The reason is that most, if not all, 2sp & 3sp Mopar's open the park switch only when in reverse (for parking), not in forward. Some years ago, I *heavily* modified a Tiawanese delay kit from J.C.Whitney for my 2sp ("fits all models" that should have said "fits all Tiawanese models"), but it had to reverse and park each time - very, very klunky. Then I built a delay by using an externall Hall effect sensor to sense the stop position, and while it worked fine, it cost me $100 in parts and a lot of effort. I know it could have also been used for the 3sp. The wiring for the 2sp and 3sp can be tricky; be sure you have the correct factory wiring diagram for the year and model before you try anything. Also, be aware that 3sp switches need a good ground. In the early 80s, Mopar had some wiper motors that were designed to work with a delay; I've not looked into adopting them to earlier models. |

I stuffed the dashboard switch and wiper motor from a late Diplomat into my 76 Aspen...The switch had a delay setting/range, but it turned out that while all the components 'plugged' very cleanly, they did not 'play'; and I never pursued it any further. -I suppose that i would have only had to run a wire or two though... |
