| Post subject: | how to ID year of 8 3/4 rear axle. |
I have to determine what year my 8 3/4" axle with 10" brakes so I can replace my wheel cylinders. Year One lists two: 1965 -69 #BG 502; and 1970- 73 #BG 500 so there is some difference. Also I'm missing both parking brake struts & strut springs. Are these available at the parts stores, or do I need to go junk yarding? I was trying to hook up new parking brake cables, and are missing these parts on both sides. |

There may be differences in the brakes; however, the main difference I know about is placement of the vent block. When I ordered my brake lines at last year's Nationals, the guy wanted to know where the vent was - close to the center section or out on the tube Last year for A Body 8 & 3/4's was 72.
