Managed to break off a manifold stud (first one on the bottom) and in my attempts to extract it, spun it back farther into the hole. Plenty of room for a new stud to be inserted, but

HOW FAR DOES THE STUD HOLE GO INTO THE HEAD AND IS IT BLIND????

(Lord I hope so).

Tell me something good please,

The stud holes are drilled all the way through to the water jacket. If you can get it all the way in it will just drop harmlessly to the bottom of the water jacket. Thread in a new stud and call it good.

I had one like that and the new one kept leaking. Come to find out someone had put a heli-coil in there. Ended up JB Welding the new Heli-coil and stud in there to keep it from leaking.

Use lots of silver paste/luberplate and brass or stainless nuts so you won't break off a stud again. :D

why not try left hand drill bits to help spin it back out since it already moves? just a thought. ron

I ended up unable to find a stud so just used a bolt. Seems to be fine.
