'79 Aspen, the SET button on the switch is bad, dealer says no longer serviced.
Anyone have a source for part # 3746518 or a replacement part #?
Can these switches be repaired or are there any vendors that can repair them?

1. Does your car have a tilt steering column?
2. Is this the cruise switch built into the turn signal lever?

Well...poop. I could've sworn this part used to be serviced by Dorman or Balkamp, and what I'm probably remembering is the item in my 1988 Balkamp catalogue from years ago. :-(

Nevertheless, I'm not sure you're out of luck. Unless I'm misreading and misremembering, your cruise switch is a sort of "piggyback" design on the turn signal stalk. Tunnelling through many FPCs and supersessions, it looks like 4342 209 should probably fit and work correctly. Still shows as a current part. It's costly, lists for over $100, but you can get it at a discount ($87) from www.chryslerpartsdirect.com .

As a second, potentially less costly but somewhat riskier option, does your switch look like this:

If so, call up Crystal in customer service at Rostra Precision Controls (910-291-2532), and order a part number 58c-08x06-g. It'll be
$35 plus $12 freight, and you can pay with a credit card. Keep quiet about what you want to use it for; the Rostra website makes it very clear that they are not interested in selling parts for other makers' systems. If anyone asks, you've got a Rostra number 250-1315 cruise control system you bought from JC Whitney. This switch may not work with your original cruise system. The only way to know is to try it.

Thanks Dan for the research. I wouldn't have known where to begin.
I'll try to find a mid '80s Mopar and have a look at switch # 4342 209 to see if it will work or can be adapted.
If not, I'll gamble and try the Rostra switch. It has has the same features (ON/OFF/SET/RESUME-ACCEL) as the OEM switch on the Aspen, although it probably piggyback clamps onto the TS stem instead being the handle. The Rosta switch looks like the one used in an aftermarket CC kit I installed in 1984 on the '84 D150 I had bought new.

Yes it is. I drove it, thought the trans and front end were shot. It did have zero rust. I don't need another car so I offered the guy $1200 and he took it. Trans problem was 3.5 qts low and front end problem was the right front wheel about to come off! I put the Rallye wheels on it. I have the quarter window louvers off to re-paint them. It has the A42 'Sunrise' package and a 225-2 lock up 904 drivetrain.
