Pull the engine out of the car. Rent a cherry picker or use a looped strap and a long pole stuck thru that, and get 4 strong friends to help lift the block out. DD |

to get the lifters out, try using a pair of the wide-blade spap ring pliers. Reach down from the top and catch the lifter by the inside lip on the top of the lifter, rotate as you lift. That would be a pretty mild cam. |

I am running that cam spec. and it will still get you good mileage and provide a good amount of spunk with out any drawbacks. I kept my original cam and had it reground to that specification. What are your goals? Are you rebuilding it to be near stock? or rebuilding it to be a hot street car? |

welllll..its kinda a rebuild to stock with pep..sooo a more powerful cam, and exhaust would be nice...but the interior is custom, and so will the audio, so it will be some what of a retro/mod. but i will be classy...and im not too worried about the mileage as i will not be taking it out for long trips, i took a trip to fl. from Georgia, it was a 6 hour drive and i about killed my self ( but there were no floor boards soooo that really sucked) but new gaskets, intake, cam, exhaust manifold/ headers, muffler (if i use one) ..possibly a new or rebuild carb. that is what is on my mind... BTW i have the two blr. intake manifold but no car 4 it, if i were to use it i would have to get the kick down linkage right? |

Yes, if you have an automatic. You can get them off eBay if you can't find a car with it.Don't toss old stock carbs. New ones or good rebuilds are hard to find that are any good. You may want to try and rebuild what you have and rebush them when they need it. |

Go to the parts for sale section, look at the Erson cam group buy sticky, Call TOM order what He reccomends. Probally a 270 would be good. My 02. Frank |
