This is posted in the EFI section, but thought it might get more attention, and a little more action from the resident cybergeeks if it were copied here. On a related issue, I found a great looking after market gas gap assembly made by Newton Equipment Ltd. It is model "zero 200". I looked for a dealer in the states who would show it in their on-line catalogue, and could not find it after an hour of searching. It is the perfect size and configuration for the A body filler cap. Take a look. http://www.newton-equipment.com/Z200new.htm See if you have any better luck than I did. If you do find a dealer who sells it, would you post back here please? Sam |

DI, I found that page, and went to every dealer listed, but could not find the cap in question. I guess I would be happy to buy a peice from one of our guys. Does it seal? What years is it for. I know the after market cap that is still available is for the 72-76 years, which means it is a sealing cap. That is the cap I want. Do you know if our slanter guy is making a cap for this application? This should not be a big deal. I was looking for a way to put a two piece filler tube in, so it was a simpler install. I came across this page while looking for tubes and hoses. While I am on the subject, does anybody know if silicone hoses are gasoline compatible? I have a bunch of those guys in a box, and it would be nice if I could use one of them to connect the two sections of gas filler tube. Thanks Sam |

Sam, I used to install that fitting on Uniflight boats. Should be able to get them from a marina catalog. |

Sam I cant remember who it is. Senior moment. Lou bought the first one and there is a thread on it. I remember some issues on the first one then all was well after that feedback. A search on gas cap might bring results. Frank |

In the thread that's linked, the URL is out of date. I emailed Steve a while ago asking about the caps, I know he has caps for earlier A-bodies, not so sure about slightly later ones. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... :IT&ih=017 This is the link he gave me, that listing is ended but still links to the rest of his stuff so you can check it all out. |
