I think you do need the ballast resister, but am not absolutely sure. You should ask them. But if you do not, simply jump the blue and brown wires at the ballast resister. Make a jumper wire to connect the two sides of the ballast resister. I think I ran mine for years without a ballast resister. But again, just check it out first to be safe. Do you still have your instruction sheet? If not. I will look this up in mine, which are filed away.

Gosh Joshie, that doesn't sound very daring, or adventuresome or creative. It guess it might work though. Think of all the nice people you meet when you break something and have to get help fixing it.

DCLXVI, let us know if you get it working OK. Is your name your birthdate in Roman numerals? I'm sorry I am not literate in Roman numerals once it gets over XXIII. I can;t even remember what Super Bowl it is, and I am a huge football fan.

Sam,

There are at least two different ways to interface MSD with stock ignition, bypass the stock ignition, etc so in the interests of brevity, expedience and not guessing I posted the obvious. Plus I linked to the instructions.

Not everyone wants to be as daring and creative with their electrical system and you.

the ignition works great. ive been running the msd per the instructions from msd, but since yesterday its running and starting a hundred times better because i eliminated the ballast resistor. DCLXVI=666.
