I purchased the rear spring perches from Mancini that are made by Andy F. I will install them fairly soon, and am wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to order new bushings ahead of time. The bolt head takes a 3/4" wrench. Would this be the smaller, or larger size? If they are the smaller ones, then I will need new bushings, as the new perches take the larger ones. Any suggested manufactures or suppliers? ARe the bigger bolts 1/2"? I can take one of the nuts off without tearing things apart, and check it for size.

3/4" wrench size means 1/2" bolt size about 95% of the time, though often the bolt head will be 3/4, the nut will take a 13/16.

AndyF's perches are for a 5/8" diameter bolt (not head diam). If you have the little 1.5" ID spring eyes, for which I don't think anyone makes poly bushings. Almost all aftermarket springs are 2" eyes, and those are no trouble getting bushings for.

Summit/Energy sells some for the small front eye, but they are for an early Mustang or something and will not fit into the eye with out lathing (or trimming), which is what I did on the V.

Man, I need to get back in the garage. Busy month...

Thanks Lou, I was hoping I cold just swap out this part without removing the springs. But, it looks like I will need to take them out to press the old ones out, and the new ones in. These springs are replacements I got about ten years ago. I will check and see if they have 2" eyelets. I hope they do. I think I remember you saying most of the aftermarket springs came with the 2" eyelts. Do you recommend harder material than rubber? Should I go for Eurethane, or polycarbonate of some kind?

I hope you get back in your garage soon. It is very rewarding. It improves most things about your life except for the condition of your fingernails.
