Where can I find all the new wires I need for a re-wire. I know I don't need to match all the colors as long as I label everything well, also what is the gauge I need. Brian |

In all my **factory** manual schematics, the gauge of each and every wire is specified. In general, you can calculate or lookup the gauge you need, but in general, do not go very small (smaller than #16), as the wires become too fragile. For example, while a modern radio's memory may require only 4mA, implying that a tiny #40 wire is massive overkill, I'd still go with #16. |

Thanks for the reply, I found a wiring diagram on Ebay which I intend to purchase, then I will begin my re-wiring. Brian |

If you want to do any re-wiring invest in a Painless kit or something equivalent. I screwed around with my stock wiring for wayyyyy to long. I've done three cars now with those kits, and they look better than the original wiring and I know are done right. They come with every wire you need and are clearly labeled. If your interested PM and let me get the name of the last kit we used that was cheaper / better/ and more American made than Painless. |
