Hello everyone!

Does any one know what the dash mounted manual choke knob looked like for the for the hyper pak? Where they all the same through out 60-62?

Currently also looking for a afb 3083 I no Im still dreaming but I know they are out there, I dont see why people just dont let them go if there not going to use them, i mean how many 60-62 valiants and lancers or any other A body for that matter are running a hyper pak or even an original hyper pak! The worlds gon run out of fuel before there put back on cars!

Im only a young guy so i havnt grown up with these cars when they were new and its very hard to find pictures in mags and on the net of original/early hyper pak stuff. Why isnt there much stuff on the net about the hyper pak? is it a big secret? Do people have to slowly gather infomation about it, or does no one care? I mean the concept is so cool, its different and it blows peoples minds when people pop the hoods of these cars.

Im just getting fustrated I no I will get there!

Please if any one can send me some pics of your hyper pak, original or your project thank you very much I want to start up a scrap book.

copperpot30@hotmail.com

Look out in the near future for a 62 valiant running a 225 iron with a modern hyper pak with a classic touch, also a 61 valiant wagon with a ali 225 running a totally original hyper pak manifolds, believe or not its true! There is also a beautiful 61 225 Valiant sedan running a clifford without a hole cut in the bonnet right here in worlds isolated city. Well thats 3 how many in the big USA?

TTBOMR there were knobs offered for '60 Valiant, '61 Valiant, and '61 Lancer, matching those cars' other dash knobs. There were no knobs offered for the (US) '62 dashboards, because the Hyper Pak was not officially offered after '61. The Australian R&S models used US '61 Valiant dashboards.

I would like to see that since the carb would be right on the bracing under the hood...

You're dreaming, there are only a few of these, it's not that people don't want to get rid of them, usually you'll find these in someone's back room, gathering dust behind some boxes and they forgot it's there...either way, current carburators are a bit more refined than those guys anyway...

No, no secret it was just an over the counter option for that era of cars (no factory install)... for the most part it's a 'race' option so streeting an original setup would take lots of tune time to get it right (whereas just 'dropping' a V-8 under the hood is quick and economical)...
If you do a search with 'hyperpak' and 'hpak', you will find a few of us have them in cars or mocking things up while working out the bugs and kinks...

Yes that is the 61 valiant (Aussie R series val) 225 hyper pak with no hole or cuts in the bonnet.

Hey there sv162 have you ever thought about coming to one the R&S series car club meetings? There is a meeting at Camberwell Park, Balga this Sunday at 9.30am

Adam

Nice car, he used a drop tin like I did with a 2" tall filter... one thing to note is that combination will not filter enough air properly if his build required more air than a 500 cfm carb would deliver...

Jim's car is indeed a "shining" example of a Hyper-pack.
I went to a couple of R & S meetings in the mid 90's but at the time it wasn't really for me. I'm a member of the Charger Club of WA, but I guess there's no harm in me going to another clubs meeting. Can't make it this Sunday, maybe the next one.
If you're interested in the Charger Club, we cater for all makes of Chryslers, it's only Charger Club by name. Check out the website http://www.chargerclubofwa.asn.au/

The drop base or drop tin is the way to go, I'm using a 3" filter on my car, there's plenty of room, and plenty of air with the big filter. Not a Hyper-pack though.

Nice S!

Just cheecked it out on mopar market, never seen it on the street or at one of the All Chrysler Days tho.

Next meeting will be the second Sunday of next month.

In 2012 the next R&S rally will be in Perth 50th aniversery since the cars have been in Australia. There were around 70-80 R&S series cruising in Bendio, Victoria wish I wish was there with mine!
Well 2012 will be here soon I wonder how many cars will come here from over east? Well I better get to work and finish my car!
