The wife and I are off to Bowling Green, Ky this weekend for the Thanksgiving Nationals. It will be our last race of the year, and I'm really hoping to get Slantzilla into the 9's. (1/8th mile) We only get one time run per class each day, so I won't have a lot of time to tune and tinker. I have run as quick as 10:06 sio I'm hoping that the good Southern air will help me out!

This is also gonna be the last race for the ol' Duster. When we get back, Slantzilla comes out and it goes to the body shop for an extended stay. I'll be racing my '66 Valiant next year, until the Duster is ready to re-appear. I'm not even gonna venture to guess when that will be. You know how projects go.......Dennis

I know how body work goes, it seems to never end.
Let us know how you do at the Races.

Good luck on the paint work. My Duster went in and 8 months later it came back out. But it was well worth the wait. And we won't even talk about the money thing.

Yes, but unfortunately I am only running 1/8th mile. I just wanna run heads up with the guy who has the six cylinder '67 ChevyII that runs 9:90's.

I figured you were running 1/8. Does anyone plan on offering a prize for a 9 second 1/4 mile run??

This has been discussed and the SSRN is talking with all the sponsors & promoters to see what we can come-up with. One thing is for sure, who ever does this first will get a wonderful SSRN plaque.

Tom, do you know something we don't know??

Not at all. I am in the process of starting a powder coating business and thought that I might offer up a gift certificate or something. Just curious about who would be co-ordinating such an effort.

The Slant Six Racing Newsletter (Seymour and his "staff") coordinates this. We had a number of suppliers contribute last year and we are always looking for more!

I wonder what the "Drive-in Boys" are up to these days??

Hey Doug,

I have just finished reading all of the back issues of the SS news letter that a friend let me borrow. What was that reference to a super slant 6 car you are putting together? Maybe you are the one that knows something we don't???? ;) Or maybe I am way behind on my reading!

Or Both!!
Let's just say that I always have a SL6 project or two in the works! Here is some "new math" from one of my recent studies:
SL6 + turbo boost x NOS = BOOM
This formula needs more development, it should equal 9.99 or less!
