Say, Just wondering if there is anyone making a boost cam for my 170ci. I'd like to get 6,000 out of it to utilize the convertor more. Anyone have a used one they would like to part with? I talked to Mr. Elgin a few times but he's super busy to build a custom one. Anyone know a good N/A cam that can rev but has minimal lobe overlap? Thanks |

Go to turbomustangs.com and there is a section where many of the blow thru guys list their combinations. You might have to register. You want a larger LSA of 114+ and small overlap. Conventional cams will work but not have the potential of a turbo specific cam. |

Shaker, I know you run a stock cam, same as mine. Although mine came from a swather motor. Charrlie, what cam do you run in your 170? Also the carb do you have? Later |

I did my turbo motor, back in 1979. There really wern't any "turbo" cams back then. It is a Crane S-264 NC. Has .434 lift, and 264 adv dur and 222 dur at .050I would have to find the cam card to get the cam timing specs, but it is a totally obsolete cam. I am running a Holley 500 cfm 2bbl in a draw thru setup at 10 lbs boost |

Tom told me the best cam would be the E470621, 270 duration cut on a 114* lobe seperation w/ 4* advance. You think this would work? I told him I'd like to shift at 6500 since my stall is around 4,000 (4500 GER)under full power. He said with boost I'll get 6500 out of it. The cam was going to be cut either tomorrow or Monday. The only thing stock in the valvetrain are the rockers and the current cam. Springs are dual and pushrods are custom Crane 3/8. Thanks for your help.
