Simple question, since the engine I just bought is a '66 and going into a '74 car: will the '74 engine's spool type mounts bolt right onto the '66 block?

Yes, the later engine mounts will bolt right onto the 66 block.
FYI, The 66 "small hub" crankshaft will not bolt-up to a 74 automatic transmission / torque converter.

No worries there. I'll be mating an A833OD to it (and will definitely make sure I get the right flywheel) :D
