Well, there's not a lot to say about this project yet, but were getting close to finishing and I'll take some more pictures. Essentailly we built four arms, two short, two long. I attateched the long ones that are shown on the picture below to the bottom axle and appx where the old springs would've mounted towards the front. Than built a box that attatched to the axle with several slots availble to adjust it. Measuerements and being parrell is very important with this project.
We're in the process of making the adjustable coil-overs which are nothing more than an overlarged nut and bolt system which will compress the spring with the shock inside of it. Meanwhile I'm making a spacer for the top and a bracket to attach it to the frame. Unfortunatley my school load and with the lathe breaking it's been a rough time.

By the way the pink stuff next to it is High Molecular Plastic were essentially using that as a bushing material. The pain in the ass is trying to drill a straight hole through that stuff. The bit would heat up the plastic and get your bit stuck. All in all with a good lathe this would be a very easy process not to metion were a whole $50 into the whole project, which will turn into a $2000 project once we have to get a new lathe, ha.

What, if anything, are you doing about the 4-link binding in roll?

4-link suspension as you have laid out binds in roll. As the car rolls to one side or one side of the axle is lifted the links attempt to rotate the axle housing. This rotation is resisted by the opposite side links causing bind and essentially turning the whole axle housing between the link attaching points into a sway bar. A parallel bar 4-link is free from bind and is a 3-link.

P.S. If you want to attend the Medford race I can swing by on my way South. I'm pitching a tent at the track.

Than there must be more than one way to skin a cat, cause the bottom two are parrell, but the top adjust in forming a 90deg which allowed us to not need a panhandle (sp?). This is they way were are going to lay it out for now and install the coil overs, we got the lathe running again. I believe dad bypassed the gear we shattered.
Thanks for the invite, we're going to make a mad dash this weekend and see where we are. I was contemplating driving down to eugene or halsey and riding with fopar or ceej but like I said right now were are hoping to get the old girl running so I'll keep you guys updated and have an answer this weekend.

It's panhard rod.......

Stock setups like that use rubber bushings which have enough give to avoid the binding.......

Another method is using heim joints or johnny joints (http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestor ... oints.aspx)

Panhard bar, that was it. Thanks the word lost me at the time. This is where we are trying to finish the springs which are the last part. The lathe broke, so we got a new gear which would limp it along to finish the project. It's simply two "buckets" that will adjust the heights. More to come. Wes
