| Post subject: | 64 barracuda rim size |
Hi, I am looking for more info. I have a chance to pick up a set of alloy 4 1/2" bolt pattern rims (on the cheap) that are 15x8 with -30mm offset that came off a jeep. I will be putting them on a 64 barracuda. That is all apart right now and want to know if they will fit without any modification. (I don't want modifications) I have a Large bolt pattern disc coverersion and a large bolt rear end off another abody. I have read others have got away with 15 x 7 but I not sure about this 8" and this perticular offset will work. Thanks Joe |

I have the late A-body disks on my '64 Valiant, using 15X7's with +13mm offset. I don't think 15X7's or 15X8's with 30mm would work without spacers. Edit: NOW I see the - sign. Minus 30mm? way too far out. Are you sure it's minus? I looked at some stock Jeep rims that had significant positive offset. |

Those wheels positively will not fit with any tire appropriate for the wheel width. They stick out much too far and will hit the fenders. You want 15x7" wheels with +6mm offset which is 4 1/4" backspacing. If you want to try 15x8s you still need +6mm offset which is then 4 3/4" backspacing. |
